
Dr.Mohammad Yunus is a Bangladeshi banker and economics professor. He graduated B.A from Dhakha University in 1960 and M.A in 1961. He got PHD. He was known Bangladesh’s first Nobel laureate. Dr.yunus’ Grameen Bank offers services in giving small loans to landless rural people. He won “Peace Noble price in 2006” because of his work for pulling out from the country’s poor. He wants to pull the people who are in the poverty into standard live.
The Grameen Bank put the women such as a first priority group to lend the money. The borrowers are no need for collateral, credit-history checks, complicated paperwork. But 98% of debts are repaid to his bank. His belief is that poverty can be eradicated from the world. He has ambition to rid Bangladesh of poverty. He believes on the fundamental human right.
Nowadays, Dr.Yunus’ concept is broadening in more than 40 countries. He set up the Garmeen in America in January. Garmeen America lent out $145,000 with intereset rate at around 15%.
